Marwan Abdo – Managing Director

Marwan is the original founder of Elite Testing Consultants (ETC). Having attained a Masters degree in Finance, Marwan started to gain experience working in the financial sector at companies such as Price Waterhouse, Lehman Brothers, Coutts bank, Norwich Union & Fidelity Investments.

Marwan first realised the importance of software testing whilst working at a financial institution that suffered heavily for not testing a new system installation. He discovered that there were few high quality testing companies and that the importance of testing was being recognised more and more on software development projects.

Using his entrepreneurial skills, he set up a testing consultancy with some like-minded individuals. The focus was on providing strong testing consultancy from strategy to meet client needs through to delivery of systems that are fit for purpose. ETC has been extremely successful and has acquired some long term high profile clients which is a testament to Marwan’s vision and the quality of the work & people that made it happen.

Marwan has recently been instrumental in taking ETC to a new level partnership with IBCS – Primax to form MagenTys, a full IT solution provider. He saw this as a necessary move to continue to meet client needs in an ever changing economic climate.

Hamish Tedeschi – Director of Operations

Hamish Tedeschi is one of the founding members of MagenTys and also its previous incarnation as Elite Testing Consultants. Since founding ETC in 2004, Hamish has grown MagenTys from a 4 person outfit from a home office to a global organisation with over 100 employees in the UK, Australia and Bangladesh.

Hamish has worked in the finance IT industry for the past 10 years. Starting in retail banking, he moved into a large scale IT integration project where he was asked to “test” a complex UNIX based data repository. This started a passion for delivering quality software and also was the place he met his fellow ETC directors. As an entrepreneur at heart, Hamish has a passion for delivering new services in innovative ways to clients. Having been a Senior Test Consultant at the centre of the business for many years, Hamish is now focusing more on the day to day running operations.

Hamish received his BCom degree in Commerce and International Business Economics from the University of Western Australia in Perth. He has numerous testing and CASE tool qualifications.

Kevin McGuire – Sales & Marketing Director

Kevin is one of the original founders of Elite Testing Consultants (ETC) and played a key role in the restructuring of the business to form MagenTys. He grew up with a passion for Mathematics and gained a BSc in Mathematics & Statistics which help pave the journey into the world of IT.

With a chosen discipline of Software Testing, Kevin has a wealth of experience in leading the testing phase of the software development life cycle for new system developments, system enhancements, web testing, system integrations, data migration and data warehousing. He has a passion for test process improvement, increasing the quality of testing and reducing its cost by introducing automated test strategies.

Kevin currently undertakes a dual role at MagenTys and is head of the Sales and Marketing department. He has been instrumental in developing the MagenTys brand and works closely with the company’s New Business Development manager and Sales team in creating new business strategies.

Jamal Ahmed – IT Director

Jamal completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Electronics and Satellite Telecommunication Engineering and currently undertakes a dual role as the Chief Executive Officer in IBCS-PRIMAX Software (Bangladesh) Ltd and IT Director Of MagenTys Ltd.

Having a strong technical background coupled with practical business knowledge has enabled Jamal to grow IBCS from a two hundred thousand dollar company into a multi-million dollar, international System Integrator (SI).

Being born in Bangladesh but having grown up and studied in the UK, has given Jamal a unique insight into how developed and developing countries in partnership can deliver cost-effective IT systems that drive down total cost of ownership but deliver a faster return on investment. The coming together of ETC, a UK based testing company and IBCS-PRIMAX a Bangladesh SI re-enforces this vision and commitment to the MagenTys brand.

David Ansell – Technical Director

David is the company’s most prominent technical expert and is the head of the MagenTys Centre of Excellence.

He grew up with a fascination of home computing which has led him to achieve a very distinguished career within the IT industry. He started out in Computer Operations working on VAX 11/780’s which provided a solid base and stepping stone into a number of areas such as development, technical support, helpdesk management, IT security, project implementation and testing.

Previous clients include Coutts & Co, Rothchilds and Royal Bank of Scotland and has a wealth of experience within the financial industry.
